Alumni UniBE - Who, how or what?

Alumni UniBE is the academic network of the University of Bern. It forms a lively and networked community with interested students and alumni. The Alumni UniBE network keeps you in touch with the university even after you graduate and connects you to your own subject via the various specialist associations.

Alumni UniBE helps you to expand your network and keep in touch with fellow students, lecturers and your department. You also have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas with alumni during your studies.

Specialist associations are independent associations that bring together former students and people interested in a particular subject area. Communities are thematic networks within Alumni UniBE in which you can also exchange ideas and network across faculties.

You can register for professional associations here using the registration form. With a dual membership, you have access to all offers of the professional associations and Alumni UniBE. You can easily register for communities via your Alumni UniBE profile. You will find an overview of all professional associations and communities under Network. You can apply for membership of the communities via the community area after logging in.

Anyone who is currently enrolled, has studied at the University of Bern and has completed their studies in Bern with a Bachelor's or Master's degree, a doctorate or a continuing education degree (10 ETCS or more) can become a member of Alumni UniBE. This means that all alumni and enrolled students can become members, regardless of their field of study.

The focus is on cross-faculty interdisciplinary networking. Alumni UniBE is organizationally integrated into the University of Bern. The alumni associations, on the other hand, are organized independently as associations. Alumni UniBE has a partnership with some alumni associations. This means that interested parties automatically become members of both alumni organizations.

You can easily register here and log in to Alumni UniBE. Membership of Alumni UniBE, the university-wide alumni organization, costs CHF 60 per year. The annual membership fees for the alumni associations range from CHF 60 to CHF 80. The community is free of charge for students, and new graduates can get to know Alumni UniBE after graduation with a free trial membership.

Membership is renewed annually upon registration and without notice at the end of the year.

For some, the start of their studies marks the beginning of a new phase in their lives. New acquaintances are made and often even friends for life are found. This makes it all the more valuable to get in touch with other students, graduates or lecturers early on and to maintain this connection even after graduation. That's exactly what we're here for! With us, you can build up a personal and professional network and the exchange between students, graduates and alumni members is encouraged. This way, you can continue to experience the atmosphere of your student days. Best of all, the diversity of disciplines, career paths and people at different stages of life offers alumni and students alike the opportunity to be inspired by the experiences of the community. Alumni UniBE keeps you in touch with the University of Bern and gives you access to the latest research and knowledge for your personal development. Alumni UniBE offers access to a valuable academic network, events, discounts and many other offers.

Yes, all graduates are welcome to join Alumni UniBE, regardless of whether or not there is an alumni association in the respective degree programs. Everyone can exchange ideas and network across disciplines in the communities or contact other members in the member area.

The Alumni UniBE website - What, how and where?

In addition to your personal alumni network, as a member of Alumni UniBE you have access to the entire digital network of Alumni UniBE.

You can use the alumni website to communicate easily with other alumni members, find former fellow students, keep up to date with news, events, a wide range of offers and apply for benefits.

The website is also used to manage and view your profile. You can manage, view and adjust your profile, subscriptions, invoices, memberships and registrations.

You can find everything about your data under "My account" in the top menu bar. Alternatively, you can also access your profile on the start page after logging in. There you can update and edit all your data and decide for yourself which data other members can see.

And what can I do there? The member directory is the University of Bern's inter-faculty and interdisciplinary online network. Here you can find all members of the Alumni UniBE Community and get in touch with them. Especially in fast-moving times, it is important that you network with other members of all age groups. Exchange ideas with others in our community and cultivate your professional and personal relationships.

There are two options:

  1. Change your password: Under "My account - My profile" you will find the option to change your password in the overview on the left under "Security".
  2. Forgot your password: Click on "Forgot password" when logging in and request a new password.

You can see all your registrations under "My account" in the menu bar under "My registrations".  

When registering for a paid event, you can pay online by credit card or Twint directly after registering. You will also find the option to pay later under "My invoices" in your profile.
Paid events can be paid for directly online by credit card or Twint.

You can return to the homepage by clicking on the Alumni UniBE logo at the top left of the page. You can return to your personal homepage via the top menu bar.

If you would like to unsubscribe from the newsletter, you can do this directly in the newsletter under Unsubscribe newsletter. Please note, however, that you will then no longer be informed by us about news from the network and interesting offers.

Membership invoices and confirmations

You can find your invoices at the top of the menu bar under "My account" and "My invoices". There you can pay outstanding contributions directly online by credit card or Twint. To pay by e-bill or QR code invoice, please contact info.alumni@unibe.ch. If you would like to change the payment method for future member invoices, go to the contact information in "My profile" and adjust the invoice receipt there. You can choose between e-bill, e-mail, paper and credit card payment.

 You can view information about your current membership under "My membership" under "My account".

You can view your memberships under "My memberships" in your profile. You can adjust your membership directly using the form, which you can also find under "My memberships".

Your invoice receipt also serves as proof of your membership and can be used to apply for some benefits, for example. You can find the invoice receipt under "My invoices",

For benefits such as Unisport, we ask you to apply for an official membership confirmation at info.alumni@unibe.ch.
